At Atlanta CBT, we are excited to announce the expansion of our parent training and family consultation services delivered through secure, flexible telehealth, now accessible in 42+ states via PSYPACT participation.
These services are designed to empower caregivers with evidence-based strategies to support children, adolescents, and young adults facing anxiety, avoidance, and dependency challenges (e.g., “failure to launch”)‚Äî even when the child or young adult is not directly involved in treatment itself.
Our parent training offerings are grounded in well-validated, research-supported therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and the SPACE model (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) and the adaptation for families with young adults experiencing “failure to launch”. This combination ensures that caregivers receive structured, effective guidance rooted in science, compassion, and clinical expertise.
Our parent training services are parent-focused: rather than centering on the child’s or young adult’s direct participation, we teach parents how to adjust their responses and environmental patterns in ways that naturally reduce anxiety and dependence at home. This is particularly powerful when children or young adults are resistant to traditional therapy or when logistical barriers make in-person treatment difficult.
By delivering services via telehealth, Atlanta CBT offers families flexibility and access that honors busy schedules, multiple family locations, and geographic limitations — all while maintaining the quality of care our clinicians are known for. Telehealth sessions bring expert support right into your home, allowing for real-world application of strategies and immediate relevance to everyday challenges.
Evidence-Based Frameworks for Lasting Change
A core component of our training is the SPACE model, developed specifically to help caregivers alter patterns that unintentionally maintain anxiety and avoidance. In SPACE, parents learn to identify and gradually reduce “accommodating behaviors” — such as excessive reassurance, avoidance facilitation, or modifications to family routines — that provide short-term relief but reinforce anxiety over time. This intentional shift fosters resilience and encourages children to approach, rather than avoid, anxiety-provoking situations.
Participants in SPACE learn:
How to observe and understand accommodation patterns
Step-by-step approaches to reducing these behaviors
Ways to support emotional regulation without rescuing
Communication techniques that promote confidence, independence, and supportive structure
Our services benefit a wide range of family challenges, including school refusal, bedtime anxiety, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, OCD-related behaviors, and even selective mutism. The SPACE framework is adaptable across ages — from early childhood into young adulthood — making it a versatile option for families facing persistent patterns of avoidance and conflict.
To learn more or inquire about services, visit our parent training page or reach out directly through our online inquiry form.

We welcome families from both the New York City area and beyond. | Body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs) such as hair-pulling and skin-picking often coexist with OCD and can seriously impair functioning. New research highlights strong outcomes for people receiving virtual treatment for BFRBs through NOCD. In a landmark study published in The Journal of Clinical Psychiatry, NOCD’s Dr. Jamie Feusner, Clare Beatty, Dr. Patrick McGrath, Dr. Andreas Rhode, and their team examined outcomes for over 1,000 people receiving habit reversal training (HRT), an evidence-based treatment for BFRBs, through video sessions with NOCD Therapists. After just 14-16 weeks, HRT with a NOCD Therapist delivered a median 33% reduction in the severity of both hair pulling and skin picking, with nearly half of participants achieving at least a 35% reduction. These results were consistent across children, teens, and adults. Researchers also observed improvements in anxiety, depression, stress, disability, and overall quality of life. These findings reinforce that BFRBs are treatable and that virtual delivery of evidence-based treatment can expand access to effective care. | We are excited to announce the launch of our Virtual Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for OCD and Anxiety, designed to meet the growing need for structured, evidence-based care beyond traditional once-weekly therapy. This program offers a comprehensive, expert-led treatment model to support individuals who require a higher level of care while maintaining flexibility through a virtual format. Our Virtual IOP is grounded in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold-standard, evidence-based treatment for obsessive-compulsive disorder and related anxiety disorders. The program provides a structured and supportive environment that includes individualized ERP planning, therapist-guided exposures, skills training, and ongoing clinical support. By combining intensive therapeutic intervention with a virtual platform, we aim to increase access to specialized care for clients who may otherwise face barriers due to geography, scheduling, or symptom severity. The program is ideal for individuals with moderate to severe OCD and anxiety who have not achieved sufficient progress with standard outpatient therapy, as well as those stepping down from higher levels of care. Our team is committed to delivering compassionate, research-informed treatment that empowers clients to build lasting skills and achieve meaningful improvements in daily functioning. The Virtual IOP is led by Dr. Stacey Dobrinsky, a nationally recognized clinician and program developer with a long-standing passion for evidence-based treatment for anxiety and OCD. | The Concord Center specializes in evidence-based care across the lifespan, including CBT, DBT, and ACT approaches. In addition to providing individual and group therapy to all ages, we offer intensive programs. Our Accelerated Outpatient Programs support adolescents and adults with moderate to severe anxiety and/or obsessive-compulsive disorders. These programs are for those who have not benefited from traditional weekly therapy or are stepping down from a higher level of care. We prioritize interventions drawn from CBT with an emphasis on ERP, alongside select DBT and ACT strategies. Clients are paired with ERP coaches who meet them in the community to complete exposures related to top problems and goals. Parents of participating adolescents complete a SPACE-based curriculum to reduce accommodations to their child’s anxiety/OCD in the home. We also offer the Beyond Dependency Program, a specialized parent-focused intervention for caregivers of highly dependent adult children. Over the course of several months to a year, parents learn practical, evidence-based strategies and complete real-world exercises aimed at supporting their adult child’s movement toward greater independence. Looking ahead, we are excited to announce our summer programming for 2026. These offerings include CBT- and DBT-based groups for children, adolescents, and parents. Most groups meet in person, with select virtual options available to clients across Massachusetts. The Concord Center is located in Concord, Massachusetts, with a secondary location in Braintree. We are proud to expand access to specialized care for individuals and families throughout the Greater Boston and South Shore regions. |

| The Gateway Institute Welcomes Taylor Galvin, ASW The Gateway Institute is pleased to welcome Taylor Galvin, ASW, to our specialized OCD treatment team. As many in the IOCDF community know, effective OCD treatment requires both clinical expertise and a deep respect for how persistent and convincing OCD can be. Taylor brings both. She specializes in treating OCD and body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs), including skin picking and hair pulling, working with children, teens, and adults. Her clinical work is grounded in gold-standard treatment, with a strong emphasis on Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Mindfulness-Based Behavioral Therapy (MBBT). Specialized OCD Treatment She understands that exposure work is not about eliminating intrusive thoughts. It is about learning that you can handle them. Taylor walks alongside clients as they lean into the moments OCD says, “You can’t handle this,” and gradually discover that they can.
Taylor integrates ERP and MBBT within a CBT framework to help clients understand the thinking patterns that maintain OCD. Together, they identify where threat is inflated or certainty is demanded, strengthening flexible thinking while reinforcing behavioral progress. Mindfulness skills create space between urges and action, particularly in OCD and BFRBs, allowing clients to choose responses aligned with their values rather than fear. Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors Taylor earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from Rutgers University and completed specialized OCD training at Rogers Behavioral Health, developing a strong foundation in ERP-based care. In addition to expanding specialized OCD services, The Gateway Institute continues to offer its 3-Week Intensive Outpatient Program for children, teens, and adults seeking focused progress. The program provides three hours of individualized therapy per day, Monday through Friday for three weeks, integrating ERP, CBT, and mindfulness-based strategies with structured real-world exposure practice and family support. Weekly and multiple-weekly sessions are also available in person, via telehealth, or in hybrid formats. Through individualized treatment and a strong commitment to evidence-based care, The Gateway Institute remains dedicated to helping individuals reduce compulsions, build resilience, and move forward with greater confidence and freedom from OCD. |

The Westwood Institute for Anxiety Disorders is pleased to announce our clinical services through an Integrative Psychiatry Program. This initiative reflects our commitment to treating obsessive-compulsive and related disorders as complex, whole-person medical conditions requiring coordinated, multidisciplinary care.
Our integrative model brings together psychiatrists, neurologists, gastroenterologists, cardiologists, gynecologists, endocrinologists, and more to collaborate in the assessment and treatment of individuals with OCD-spectrum and highly comorbid conditions. By addressing neurobiological, hormonal, gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, and systemic contributors alongside psychiatric symptoms, we aim to improve treatment outcomes and long-term stability, viewing anxiety disorders as an illness affecting the whole body.
We are also introducing a 3-Day Weekend Intensive Program designed for individuals with moderate to high severity OCD who require structured, evidence-based intervention but may not be able to commit to a full-time program. This format allows patients to engage in concentrated treatment while maintaining work, school, or family responsibilities.
All treatment programs at the Institute are fully individualized. We do not apply a one-size-fits-all model. Instead, each patient receives a comprehensive evaluation, and a multidisciplinary team is carefully assembled around their specific clinical presentation. Treatment plans are tailored to the individual’s symptom profile, comorbidities, medical history, and functional needs.
The Westwood Institute continues to specialize in complex presentations characterized by significant comorbidity, particularly where compulsivity and impulsivity intersect. These include OCD-spectrum disorders with co-occurring mood disorders, trauma-related conditions, eating disorders, body dysmorphic disorder, trichotillomania, excoriation disorder, and other impulse-control difficulties. Our clinical approach emphasizes thorough assessment, collaboration across specialties, and evidence-based interventions designed to address both compulsive and impulsive symptom dimensions.
We remain dedicated to advancing comprehensive, integrative care for individuals struggling with OCD and related disorders and look forward to continued collaboration within the IOCD community.
