At Anxiety & OCD Treatment Specialists, we offer a unique intensive outpatient program at a lower cost where the client can mostly make their own therapeutic schedule depending on provider availability. All prospective clients must first complete an initial intake session with their provider to ensure they are a good fit for IOP. The IOP allows for more hours of treatment per week, allowing the patient to progress at a more rapid rate. In the IOP setting for OCD and anxiety disorders, the client will do exposures directly with the provider and on their own with the provider supervising. Doing exposures independently prepares the client to do more difficult exposures on their own at home.
Our IOP stands apart from other local services in Tampa Bay in several ways. First, we are fully licensed providers and highly specialized in treating anxiety and OCD. Second, we will not dilute your treatment with other therapeutic modalities simply to fill your time and slow your progress. Lastly, because we don’t accept insurance, we do not have to provide a cookie cutter treatment approach. Instead, each client has a treatment plan that is entirely individualized for them.

As we enter the holiday season, we’re excited to share a few updates from Anxiety Experts and highlight what we’ve been working on lately.
This fall, our Clinical Director, Dr. Andrea Kulberg, continued her commitment to advanced clinical training by attending the IOCDF’s Advanced Forum on Pediatric OCD in October. This intensive program brought together experts from across the country, helping ensure our team remains at the forefront of providing the most effective OCD treatment for children and teens.
We’re also delighted to welcome our newest primary therapist, Alyssa Tate, who joins Anxiety Experts with specialized training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs). Alyssa brings warmth, expertise, and enthusiasm to the team, and we’re thrilled to expand our capacity to serve the community with her on board.
Looking ahead to spring, Dr. Kulberg will be a featured speaker at the Cottage Hospital Grand Rounds on May 19, presenting on OCD and Related Disorders. Her talk will focus on educating local physicians about evidence-based treatment so they can make more informed referrals for their patients.

In collaboration with our colleagues at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, the BELONG study is looking for research participants for a study on genetics and OCD in African American populations. The purpose of this study is to gain a better understanding of the clinical and genetic aspects of OCD in individuals with Black or African ancestry. Over the past quarter, CHI continued to expand access to specialized treatment for OCD, anxiety disorders, and eating disorders through its integrated psychotherapy and nutrition model. At Hopewell, we continue to run our Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) group multiple times each week and have recently added a new program to complement this work.
Our new group, Life Goal Focus (LGF), helps prepare new residents for engaging in ERP. The group explores different forms of avoidance, introduces supportive lifestyle changes to enhance ERP progress, and provides psychoeducation about the treatment process. Participants gain confidence and understanding as they get ready to begin ERP and find added encouragement through peer learning and empowerment.
ERP group participants have also been engaging in both on-property and off-property exposures over the past few months. On-property exposures include activities around the farm—such as spending time near animals, engaging with staff, tending the garden, or walking the track. As participants gain confidence and stamina, they move on to off-property exposures tailored to their individual goals, such as visiting coffee shops, stores, parks, or restaurants. With the support of clinicians and peers, participants continue the courageous work of ERP in real-world settings.
Additionally, our ERP group recently introduced a Self-Compassion and OCD highlight series, offering a deeper exploration of this essential aspect of healing and recovery.

Winter is coming, and so are some great new additions to the New England OCD institute! First, we would like to highlight that our OCD support group has just moved to Mondays at 5:15-6:15pm EST and is now being led by our OCD Specialist Neil Schneeberg, LPCA. This group is open to anyone in Connecticut, 18 or older and is online, so it is accessible to anyone across the state! The Northwell Health OCD Center provides evidence-based, comprehensive outpatient treatment for OCD and OCPD. It is one of the few specialized facilities in the New York metropolitan area that accepts most health insurance plans — including Medicare and Medicaid.

This season marks an exciting period of transition at McLean Hospital’s OCD Institute (OCDI) and OCDI Jr.
We extend our deepest gratitude to Diane Davey, RN, MBA, for her tireless and visionary leadership, and wish her the very best in her retirement. We also celebrate the retirement of Leslie Shapiro, LICSW, whose dedication since the OCDI’s inception has left an indelible mark on our program and the broader OCD treatment community.
Looking ahead, Dr. Nathaniel Van Kirk has stepped into the role of Program Director at the OCDI, continuing our strong commitment to excellence in care and innovation. We also welcome back Dr. David Alperovitz, who returns as Training Director, further strengthening our educational and training mission.
Our fellowship program continues to thrive. Over the summer, we were thrilled to announce that Dr. Yangqian Shen and Dr. Molly McNamara have chosen to continue as part of the OCDI/OCAR team as second-year postdoctoral fellows. We are also delighted to welcome Dr. Hannah Broos as a clinical-research fellow for the 2025–2026 academic year.
OCDI Jr. continues to grow as well, welcoming APA intern Hannah Becker and Postdoctoral Fellow Dr. Erin McDonald this fall — both wonderful additions to our clinical team. In September, OCDI Jr. also relocated to a new residential house, providing a more comfortable and home-like environment for young residents outside of the traditional hospital setting.

The Pediatric Anxiety Research Center (PARC), located in East Providence, Rhode Island, offers a wide range of insurance-based clinical services as well as research opportunities focused on anxiety and OCD.
On September 27, PARC hosted its 8th Annual Reunion for graduates of its partial hospitalization program, welcoming more than 200 guests. Youth and families came together to reconnect, share stories, and celebrate one another — a powerful reminder of the supportive community at the heart of PARC’s mission.
In recognition of OCD Awareness Week, PARC was proud to co-host a screening of Unstuck with OCD Rhode Island on October 15. The screening was followed by a thoughtful panel discussion highlighting lived experiences and treatment insights for youth with OCD. The event inspired meaningful dialogue and connection among attendees.

The Center for Anxiety and OCD (CAOCD) offers comprehensive, evidence-based services for individuals of all ages struggling with anxiety disorders, OCD, tic disorders, and body-focused repetitive behaviors. Our treatment modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure with Response Prevention (ERP), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), tailored to each client’s needs. CAOCD provides therapy in person in Irvine, California and teletherapy services by licensed and associate clinicians. Treatment populations include children, teens, adults, couples, and families.
Additional support comes via specialized programs such as SPACE parent-coaching (to guide caregivers in supporting anxious children), and the ROCD Couples Course (focused on OCD’s impact in romantic relationships). The Center for OCD & Anxiety Related Disorders (COARD) program at Saint Louis Behavioral Medicine Institute (SLBMI) is a nationally recognized, multidisciplinary program that has provided expert treatment for obsessive-compulsive and anxiety disorders for over 30 years.
COARD offers outpatient, intensive outpatient (IOP), and partial hospitalization (PHP) levels of care—available in-person and via telehealth across all PSYPACT states—for individuals of all ages. We’re excited to share that our new office in Wexford, which opened in late October, is helping to increase access to high-quality outpatient OCD treatment for individuals living north of Pittsburgh.
In addition to expanding our clinical services, we’ve also grown our community programming with two new free support groups — a Caregiver Support Group and a Support Group for Adults with OCD. Both groups meet weekly and are open to anyone who reserves a spot in advance.
COA also continues to offer a range of training and consultation opportunities, including 1:1 supervision, live online sessions, and pre-recorded workshops, all designed to help clinicians deepen their understanding of OCD and strengthen their treatment skills.

We had a busy and productive fall season, beginning with our inaugural hybrid Mid-Atlantic OCD Conference, co-sponsored by Sheppard Pratt and the OCD Mid-Atlantic affiliate of the IOCDF. The event was both well-attended and well-received, featuring engaging sessions and expert insights. Several of our clinicians also presented at the Online OCD Conference and the Online Faith and OCD Conference in November. Additionally, Jon represented our team at the Not Alone Summit in Las Vegas and presented virtually at an OCD Conference in Bulgaria, helping to spread the message of hope for effective OCD treatment around the world.
The Center for OCD and Anxiety has expanded services to include specialized OCD care for younger children and their families, addressing the growing need for early diagnosis and intervention. The Child Mind Institute
The Child Mind Institute OCD Service specializes in diagnosing children with OCD and providing individualized treatment by using cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and exposure and response prevention (ERP). For children experiencing significant impairment, we offer our Intensive OCD Program, which can make an extraordinary difference in a short period of time by condensing typical treatment sessions that occur weekly over a few months into daily three-hour sessions over 1-4 weeks.
Families from outside the New York City area are welcome to reach out for treatment. We include parents and family members in every stage of care, and services are available in both English and Spanish. The Child Mind Institute offers financial aid to help families cover costs.

The Concord Center specializes in evidence-based care across the lifespan, including CBT, DBT, and ACT approaches.
In addition to providing individual and group therapy to all ages, we offer intensive programs. Our Accelerated Outpatient Programs support adolescents and adults with moderate to severe anxiety and/or obsessive-compulsive disorders. These programs are for those who have not benefitted from traditional weekly therapy or are stepping down from a higher level of care. We prioritize interventions drawn from CBT with an emphasis on ERP, alongside select DBT and ACT strategies. Clients are paired with ERP coaches who meet them in the community to complete exposures related to top problems and goals. Parents of participating adolescents complete a SPACE-based curriculum to reduce accommodations to their child’s anxiety/OCD in the home.
Our additional intensive program, the Beyond Dependency Program, was created for parents or caregivers of highly dependent adult children. Over the course of a month to a year, parents learn effective strategies and practice real-life exercises to help move their adult child toward independence.

The Gateway Institute proudly offers its signature 3-Week Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP): a structured, evidence-based treatment for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). Designed for children, adolescents, and adults seeking concentrated treatment, the program integrates Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Behavioral Therapy (MBBT), and family education within a supportive environment.
Clients work one-on-one with a specialized OCD therapist for three hours a day, Monday through Friday, supported by home assignments, real-world exposure, and ongoing guidance. This immersive model helps clients break free from compulsions, build resilience, and regain control.
Across all locations, results show significant improvement. On the Yale-Brown Obsessive-Compulsive Scale (Y-BOCS), participants typically begin with moderate to severe OCD and complete the program at a mild level, reflecting substantial symptom reduction.
The IOP is available in-person, via telehealth, or hybrid in California, Colorado, and Washington, with telehealth access for Arizona, New Jersey, Utah, and Oregon clients. Out-of-state and international clients are welcome.
By tailoring care to each client’s unique needs and recovery goals, we help individuals and families build skills, strengthen support systems, and foster lasting hope. The UCSF adult OCD Program consists of our outpatient clinic where we provide medication management and cognitive behavioral therapy in our resident training and staff clinics. In particular, we specialize in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for the treatment of OCD and Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention Therapy (CBIT) for the treat of tic disorders.
We see patients living in California and offer both in-person and telehealth appointments for the outpatient clinic.
For patients needing higher levels of care, we have an intensive outpatient program (IOP) that offers intensive cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and medication management for patients with OCD.
We also can provide internal referrals to our TMS and Neuromodulation clinic for patients with treatment-refractory OCD, who may benefit from Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS).
We are engaged in research and have a number of ongoing clinical trials of new treatments for patients with OCD and related disorders.
We are actively recruiting participants with OCD for our genetics study and recruiting teenagers with OCD for our teen TMS study. For our DBS research studies, we are looking for people with treatment-refractory OCD.
